On 27^th August 2022 we celebrated our Annual Sports day at Guru Nanak Scholl ground. The staff, students, parents, volunteers and audience had assembled early and the event started on the dot. We and various individual and group events-Aerobics, Yoga demo, Running race, Shot put, group games with students of Guru Nanak school, games for parents etc; It was wonderful to see the children play hard, cheer each other and celebrate their victories!! Representatives of our corporate sponsors, staff members from Guru Nanak School and College and our Board of Trustees also attended the event and were with us till the very end of the program cheering for our children and interacting with each of them personally!! Overall the event was a grand success and is already looking forward to the next edition!!!

Our students participated in Vegam sports organised by the State Government for children with special needs. Students participated in 200 meters running, sack race, it was a fun filled event where many other students from different schools had come for participation. Students were given participation certificates.

Many of our students have great potential in sports. We are extremely happy to share the news that our Vocational student Rudresh won a silver medal in 200 mtr running in Special Olympics in conducted by the Sangamam Charitable Trust at Nehru Stadium.

On February 1st, as part of the birthday celebrations of the Chief Minister, another sports meet was conducted by the DDRO for special needs children, where many of the state ministers participated. Our vocational student Miran Mohideen won the 2nd prize in 200 mtr running race and he received the medal from the Minister for Social welfare Ms. Valarmathi.

As a part of Cognizant ourtreach programme, CTS, Siruseri conducts Shining Stars (Event for Special Kids/Orphanage Home Kids) every year. Our students participated in many sports events (in special schools category) like:

• Hopping
• Sack Race
• Ball Gathering
• Balloon Bursting
• Target Bowling
• Rolling the Ball

The following students won prizes in the events and everyone was also awarded with certificates of participation.

• Surya – 1st Prize in Balloon Bursting
• Hisham Yesuri – 2nd prize in Rolling the Ball
• Gurubharan – 3rd prize in Ball Gathering

Swabodhini conducted its annual sports day on November 28, 2014. The event was held on the grounds of MGR Janaki College for Women, Adyar, Chennai. The event was sponsored by Deloitte Haskins & Sells. This was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility program.

All the students participated in the different events. 40 members from Deloitte Haskins & Sells participated, together with their Senior Partners. The staff and management from Deloitte helped the students perform in the different events. All the students were awarded prizes and gifts for their participation.
