Swabodhini provides high-quality education, structured training and therapy services. In partnership with parents and society, we empower individuals to reach their potential for all-round development, and transition them to sheltered- or open-employment, thus, enabling them to lead an independent life with dignity in mainstream society.
Established in 1989, and located in the serene locality of Valmikinagar, Chennai, Swabodhini’s aim and goal is to empower and instill self-confidence in all our children who have special needs. Our maiden venture began with the passion to help 4 children and today, we continue to grow, and serve, as well as, empower 60+ differently abled students. Swabodhini has started it’s new center within Guru Nanak College campus in Velachery. At our Special School, apart from providing special education and training, we also provide speech therapy and occupational therapy services. We believe that the warmth, love and encouragement that the students experience here, will bring to light, their hidden potential. Further it will also help develop their personality. The school is managed by Swabodhini Charitable Trust, which is registered under Section 12Aa of the Income Tax act.
The Government of Tamilnadu formally recognized Swabodhini School for Children with Special Needs in the year 2006.
